Big Wave Surfing

Big Wave Surfing is a whole specialized type of surfing where experienced surfers paddle into or are towed onto huge waves. Big Waves range in sizeand start at 20 feet (6.2 m) high! Big Wave surfing is dangerous. It is not uncommon for surfboards to break and injuries or death to result from the sport. Special large surfboards are used called ‘rhino chasers’, or ‘guns’ design for these waves.
