North Shore Surf Girls
The North Shore Surf Girls Surf School is located on the North and South shores of Oahu in Hawaii. It offers surfing lessons to anybody who is interested. There are no restrictions or limitations on the kind of people that may join. They offer classes to men, women and children, from the very beginner level to the advanced level.
It claims that almost all of their students are able to stand up on a surfboard on the first day of their lessons. Many of them, it says, do so on the very first wave they ride.
The school has an all-female group of instructors, all of whom are professional surfers. Many have worked as stunt doubles in the Bay Watch series, and a few have appeared in the surf movie, Blue Crush. They are all certified by the Blue Cross as able to deliver CPR and some have worked as lifeguards or have some experience at being lifeguards.
Surfing lessons are available to very small children as well, even below the age of 8. These have to be private lessons. Lessons can be taken in groups, or as semi-private or private lessons. In addition, you can also have a barbeque and a drink after your day-long lesson with the instructor. Semi-private lessons are taken usually for two people, often couples. If you are self conscious and unsure of yourself, you could go for the private lessons.
The school claims that even if you are out of shape you will be able to learn how to surf. This helps many people to shed their inhibitions and stop feeling self conscious in front of the seemingly perfect Hawaiian women surfers. Regardless to say, schools like these are a large part of the tourism industry that Hawaii is famous for.
