More Longboard Fins: 1

The fin in a surfboard is located near the rear of the board, on the underside to prevent the board from sliding sideways on the water. This provides directional stability to the surfer. Before fins were added to surfboards, surfers used to use their toes to stabilize and steer the board according to their preference. However, the addition of the fin truly revolutionized surfing by giving surfers much more control over their board and providing better balance during turns. Earlier boards came with fixed fins, which enabled the boards to have a limited set of characteristics. Later, removable fins were invented which enabled boards to possess a wide variety of surfing characteristics based on the particular type of fin attached to the board.

Surf board fins are made from a variety of different materials. Some are made from wood like the more traditional fins used in the early days of fin development. Others use fins made from synthetic materials. Some fins are also made from composites for greater performance and to make the fins possess certain unique properties. These materials make the fins last longer and withstand more stress experienced during the complex maneuvers.

The FCS Soul Arch 8 in Fin is an evolution of the traditional dolphin outline, the preferred template of longboarders worldwide. It performs well in progressive longboards, single fins, bonzers, eggs and all other hybrids. The Soul Arch is the ideal all-rounder and can be used on most types of boards. The FCS Dolphin 10 in Fin is also an all-round fin, which works well as a tri-fin or a single depending on the size and the type of the board. If you want your board to change its characteristics as and when you go for new maneuvers, then go for our wide collection of fins and choose the ones appropriate for your surfing needs.
