More Longboard Fins: 1

The fin in a surfboard is located near the rear of the board, on the underside to prevent the board from sliding sideways on the water. This provides directional stability to the surfer. Before fins were added to surfboards, surfers used to use their toes to stabilize and steer the board according to their preference. However, the addition of the fin truly revolutionized surfing by giving surfers much more control over their board and providing better balance during turns. Earlier boards came with fixed fins, which enabled the boards to have a limited set of characteristics.
