Even if you are not a surfer, you don't need a reason to watch surf girls in action. Surfing is a sport that men and women of all ages love. It is exciting and entertaining to watch how the surfer girls in the MTV Surf Girls show ride the waves. This was a reality show telecast in 2003. It had 14 surfer girls contesting for the most-wanted wildcard entry in the World Championship for surfing. These surf girls became popular very soon and still have a fan following.

If you watch surf girls old episodes, you will notice that one girl is eliminated in every episode of the show. They are judged on the basis of three aspects- surfing capability, physical tests taken every week and an optimistic approach. These girls had a planned itinerary which included world travel to surfing destinations for training and preparation. In the course of all this they also met professional surfers who helped them to develop their surfing skills. They are accompanied by Danielle Beck, who is the Roxy team manager and their guardian for the girls.

The surfing style has two kinds of tests. Those surfer girls who are short boarders are examined with respect to the complexity of their maneuvers. The long boarders are tested on the basis of their wave selection and the span of the ride on that particular wave. The first episode resulted in the ousting of 2 contestants for family and attitude reasons. All these girls were put in Green/ Top Ranking, Yellow/ Middle Ranking and Red/ Bottom ranking slots for easy elimination.
